Kevin Spacey received an award for his recent role in the film Check. Check is about a secretary whose self-driving car is hacked while she is on her way home after visiting the Prime Minister for an affair. Directed and written by Gene Fallaize, Check starring Lauren Metcalfe, Mark Hampton and Natasha Kemball, alongside Spacey.

The role Spacey is being awarded for is specifically his vocal performance, as he only lends his voice to the film. The award was given by the Folkestone Independent Film Awards, specifically for the thriller performance category.

This isn’t the first time Spacey has won an award for his acting either. In 2000, he won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in American beauty and also won the award for Best Supporting Actor for The usual suspects from 1995.

But, as Variety notes, Spacey’s career took an unfortunate turn. In 2017, he was faced with allegations of sexual assault by Anthony Rapp, which led to him receiving less and less work as time went on. This award is the first he’s won since then. Although Rapp was unsuccessful in his lawsuit against Spacey, he was still forced to face trial on multiple other allegations of sexual abuse.
