World of Chaos: New Crossover Hardcore Band From Delaware Proves Youth Is Still Restless | Features

World of Chaos is a new hardcore/crossover band from Delaware. The band consists of Gabe Antonio, son of Mark Antonio who played drums in groups such as My Turn to Win, Shai Hulud, The Dividing Line and Thought Control. His wife Brooke has done merchandise for bands such as Sick of It All, Walls of Jericho and Dead to Fall, and runs Stick It to Me Stickers.

Gabe has performed live guest vocals for numerous bands over the years of touring, including Bane, Descendents, and Comeback Kid. He has also lent his harmonica skills to Gorilla Biscuits, his guitar skills to Piebald, and his full-time bass playing to Thought Control. He also has a YouTube channel (Kids In The Pit) where he has interviewed GWAR, Fiddlehead, and many more.

The boy rocks, so when I found out he was finally starting his own band, I had to reach out. More below

Introduce yourself.

My name is Gabe and I play bass or guitar and sing in World of Chaos.

Where do you live and how did the band start?

So there’s a game called Geometry Dashwith music in it, and me and the drummer Jayden tried to do a duet with the songs on the piano, but then we switched to drums and guitar, and we formed a band called Midnight Terror which wasn’t very good, and Midnight Terror never recorded or played live, and now we’re in World Of Chaos

How old are you and the rest of your band members?

I’m 12 and the drummer Jayden is 14.

How did you get into hardcore?

The band Bad Religion got me into hardcore. I listened to Bad Religion, and then I got into Hot Water Music, and Strike Anywhere was the opening act, and that was my gateway into hardcore. And then I got really into Sick of It All.

Tell me about Kids In the Pit.

So the lead singer of the band Be Well, Brian McTernan, was on a lot of podcasts and I thought, “I bet I can do that,” and now here we are. My favorite interviews were Brian Baker from Bad Religion, Chuck Ragan from Hot Water Music, and Milo Aukerman from Descendents.

What was it like being in the hardcore scene at such a young age?

It’s super fun and I love going to shows. Also singing or playing guitar with bands is something I’m super lucky to have and I love it.

What are your influences?

Jayden’s drummers are Slipknot and Rush. Mine are Municipal Waste, Hot Water Music, Bad Religion and DRI.

Which bands would you like to play with in the near future?

DRI, Municipal Waste and Hatebreed.

Which bands from your region would you recommend?

BoySetsFire is awesome. Paralysis from New Jersey is also super dope. And my other band that I’m in with my dad, Thought Control, also from New Jersey, is also dope.

Planning a tour/show?

We’d like to participate in some local shows and festivals, and we’d like to go away for a weekend this year.

Final thoughts.

This was super fun! Thanks for letting us do this interview.
