Reading police investigate robberies at local credit unions

Reading Police are asking the public for help identifying a suspect in connection with two attempted robberies at local credit unions on July 8, 2024.

On July 8, 2024 at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers responded to Visions Federal Credit Union at 35 N 6th St. for a 911 call of a hangup. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had entered the credit union and approached a teller’s counter, stating that he had a firearm and demanding money.

Shortly thereafter, Reading Police received a report of a suspicious male at Pagoda Federal Credit Union. Upon arrival, officers determined that the same individual involved in the robbery at Visions Federal Credit Union had also attempted to rob Pagoda Credit Union.

The suspect was identified by officers as Josue Rivera-Reyes. A warrant has been issued for his arrest and the Reading Police Department is seeking information on his whereabouts.
