Charity Chairman Recognized for Efforts

A BOURNEMOUTH disability training charity is celebrating winning a ‘major’ award.

Crumbs Project Chairman Peter Jones MBE was recognised with the Education and Training Award at Cateys 2024.

Peter has been recognized for his dedication to improving the lives of adults with disabilities, neurodiversity and mental illness through innovative hospitality training programs.

The jury praised Peter’s continued dedication to education and training and felt he was more than deserving of this year’s award.

He said: “The Education and Training Awards are a great honour that embodies my lifelong passion for hospitality education.

“This recognition is not only an acknowledgement of past achievements, but also fuels my enthusiasm for the future of the sector.

“It reinforces my commitment to opening doors for people who have had a less fortunate start in life than many, by helping them build fulfilling careers and live independently.

“I am deeply grateful for this recognition and see it as a powerful platform to further amplify the vital work of The Crumbs Project, ensuring that the transformative power of education and training reaches those who need it most.”

Judge David McKown added: “Peter is a giant in the education sector. His dedication to developing materials, publications and being a voice for the sector makes him a worthy winner.”
