Every object in the Art Museum’s collection has an interesting backstory that you’ll never learn without attending one of these engaging presentations included with your admission ticket. During the presentation, you’ll discover who made the object, who owned it, and how it came to be in the Colonial Williamsburg Collection. Each week, an object is examined by a curator, conservator, educator, archaeologist, or historian. This is another way they bring history to life! Here’s the upcoming schedule

  • July 1st: Hull & Sanderson: Silver –Erik Goldstein
  • 8 July: Faces of Williamsburg: Portraits from the Colonial Capitol – Kate Rogers
  • July 15: Tally Ho! Preserving an 1880’s Children’s Toy Ride-On – Aliza Taft
  • July 22: Treatment of two large glass vessels – Charlotte Li & Katie Linder
  • July 29: Conservation of an 18th century wall cannon – Tina Gessler
  • August 19: Costume Fitting and Display – Jackie Peterson-Grace
  • August 26: Archaeological collections in the spotlightS Sean Devlin

These presentations will be held in the Hennage Auditorium and require admission to the museum, a Good Neighbor Pass, or an Annual Pass. The Hennage Auditorium is located on the ground floor of the Art Museum of Colonial Williamsburg. The program is subject to change. More event info
