School Holiday: On 9th July, School and College Day is declared a public holiday in Mumbai. Know why

School vacation: Since the night of July 7, Mumbai is experiencing heavy rains. The situation in Mumbai has worsened due to the rains. Water has accumulated at many places. This has also disrupted traffic. Schools and colleges have been closed. Due to the heavy rains, Mumbai’s civic body BMC has ordered all schools and colleges to remain closed on July 9. Local trains and many trains from outside the state have been cancelled.

Schools and colleges have been closed. Due to the heavy rains, Mumbai’s municipal corporation BMC has ordered all schools and colleges to remain closed on July 9. Local trains and many trains from outside the state have been cancelled. Meanwhile, some pictures and videos have also surfaced of the worsening situation after the rains, which shows how many people are suffering from waterlogging.

The monsoon session of the Mumbai Legislative Assembly is currently going on. MLAs from different parts of the state are coming to Mumbai to attend the monsoon session but the MLAs are also affected by the heavy rains in Mumbai. Due to the heavy rains in Mumbai, the railway tracks are flooded. Due to this, the Howrah Express was stalled for a long time in the Kurla area. Cabinet Ministers Anil Patil, Sanjay Gaikwad, Amol Mitkari, Jogendra Kavade and many MLAs were travelling in this express.

Mumbai Airport Runway Closed

Due to bad weather, the runway operations at Mumbai Airport were suspended for some time. Airport staff were deployed at the terminals to help the passengers and provide them with necessary assistance. The airport official said that we request the passengers to contact their respective airlines and check the schedule before coming to the airport.

IMD warning of rain in Mumbai

IMD has issued a warning regarding the weather in Mumbai. MD has issued an orange warning for Akola, Amravati and Yavatmal in West Vidarbha during the next 24 hours. Buldhana, Amravati will receive heavy to moderate rain. Heavy rain is expected in some parts of Nagpur. Other districts have been issued a yellow warning.
