Cinema is the father of OTT platforms, will always be evergreen and timeless: Suniel Shetty

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Cinema is the father of OTT platforms and will always remain relevant and timeless, actor Suniel Shetty said on Monday during a two-day visit to the city.

The actor said that the craze for cinema will never go away. ‘It existed in the past and will continue in the future. Bollywood directors are experimental, which sometimes leads to not so good films, whereas South Indian cinema is connected to the audience, which leads to dubbing or copying of South films in Hindi and other languages. OTT platforms mainly provide a platform for upcoming artists,’ he said.

He also stressed the importance of films in different languages. Every creation has its own essence and it is just that they should be made for the benefit of the country.

Talking about Indore, Shetty said it is the cleanest city and is slowly moving towards becoming a green city with a different vibe and connection. The people of the city are humble. He also said that he would like to make an investment deal in the city in future, if a good opportunity comes.

In a conversation with media persons, Shetty was asked about his contribution to Border 2. He said that he is about to retire but the film Border has always been close to his heart. The film not only earned him recognition but also makes him a hero in the film industry even today.

This film will always remain dear to him. Though he has done films like Hera Pheri and Welcome, Border remains a legendary film. He expressed his desire to play a character like in Sharaabi, and said that if given a chance, he would love to play that role.

He revealed the secret of his fitness and said that his mornings always start with yoga or exercises. He works out continuously and stays happy. He eats only as much as he needs.
