Free swimming at the Kingston Community Pool

KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — On a day like Sunday, a swimming pool is the ideal place to be. And it’s even better when swimming is free.

More than 600 children and adults had a free splash in the Kingston Community Pool thanks to the Youth Enrichment Project.

Organizers held their third annual Hawaiian Pool Party.

A raffle was also held during Sunday’s event to raise money for the program.

The Youth Enrichment Project organizes events such as sports, arts and this pool party to help families who cannot afford it.

“So, if you’re thinking soccer. Registration fee, we can do that. If you need supplies, we can do that. So soccer, football, art, theater. Anything that your child is interested in, they can sign up with us and we can help them with the cost,” said Kelly Ann Kenny, co-founder of the Youth Enrichment Project.

“There should be more events for kids because sometimes it’s hard to find fun things for kids to do, especially if they’re free,” said Kingston resident Liana Francisco.

More than 600 people attended the free pool party, followed by the first Party Under The Pavilion, featuring free lunch, activities and giveaways.
