Anne-Marie has revealed that her boyfriend Ed Sheeran once gave her advice, a piece of advice she has kept ever since he shared it with her during a joint tour.

The singer-songwriter, now 33, was the opening act for Ed, now 33, during his ÷ Tour in 2017 and 2018. The colleagues have since reunited, including for a special performance during one of his more recent tours in 2022.

Looking back on their friendship, Anne-Marie said in a recent interview that she learned from Ed “every day” during the tour five years ago. And she revealed that he gave her one piece of advice about family that has stuck with her in the years since she was one of his support acts.

The Brit Award nominee said he was “really supportive” of her when they worked together, adding in the Metro interview that she considers herself “really lucky” to have the friendship. She then discussed what she’s learned from him.

She told the outlet: “I learned something from Ed every day we were together. I remember him saying you have to stay in touch with your parents because when you’re on the road, you can get lost. I always keep that in the back of my mind.”

Her family has grown in the years since she toured with Ed. Anne-Marie and rapper Slowthai, 29 – whose real name is Tyron Frampton – welcomed their daughter Seven, now believed to be around three months old, earlier this year.

Anne-Marie has shared glimpses into her life since welcoming the newborn, including an Instagram post in April that read: “2024 is already my favorite year. We have a new member to our gang.” She told fans in a post the following month: “I love this little one like you wouldn’t believe. And I’m so happy she has the biggest family in all of you.”

During the recent interview, Anne-Marie teased that she herself is keen to support emerging artists, following in the footsteps of Ed who supported her. She told the outlet that since appearing as a judge on The Voice, she is “really excited” to “bring new talent forward” and “help them in any way I can.” She suggested that if she can help someone with music “or just life in general,” she will, adding that when she makes people laugh, she “feels great.”
