“Eminem approached to headline Glastonbury Festival 2025”

Rap fans are in an uproar amid speculation that Eminem is set to headline Glastonbury next year.

Less than a week after the tents were taken down following this year’s event, The Daily mail According to newspaper reports, the organizers want to settle criticism of this year’s line-up by dazzling a top act in 2025: Eminem.

They quote an “insider” who reveals that talks are reportedly already underway to recruit the American star for what would be his first ever time at Worthy Farm, having previously headlined Reading and Leeds in 2017.

This year’s line-up included pop star Dua Lipa, rockers Coldplay and American R&B star SZA performing at the festival. But critics were quick to slam the bill, pointing out that this was Coldplay’s fifth time as headliner, and that the crowd for SZA on Sunday night was a fraction of Elton John’s last year.

The daily mail reports that even Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was hesitant about returning to the Glastonbury stage, but quoted organiser Emily Eavis as saying: “I think it reflects what’s happening in the music world at the moment. There aren’t many new rock acts to choose from, if I’m honest.”

Shania Twain and Cyndi Lauper also performed this year, but both suffered from sound problems, which critics watching the BBC broadcast at home were quick to criticise.
