Tom Walker comes to Colchester

Tomorrow, the Lion Walk Shopping Centre will welcome one of the biggest names in music to the streets of Colchester for a live performance.
Tom Walker, the successful singer-songwriter who has become a revelation on social media with his last-minute ‘live on the street’ performances, has announced Colchester town centre as his next destination.
Tom announced that he was coming to Colchester on Saturday 6th July, announcing on TikTok: “Colchester, I’m coming to you this weekend. We’re going to be playing at 11am and 1pm. It’s free, completely free, so come along, have a look and sing a few songs. It’s going to be amazing. Colchester, see you on Saturday.”
During the trip to Colchester, fans will get the chance to hear some of Tom’s biggest hits, plus a taster of his upcoming album, I Am, out on September 20 this year.
The Scottish star has seen his Toms Towns tours go viral on social media, with him performing for free at various venues in the towns and cities he visits.
In March, Tom visited Tamworth and played live to a large audience in the town centre, dedicating several of his hits, including Just You And I, Burn, Head Underwater and Leave a Light On, to the residents he met there.
Tom’s Tamworth date follows similar visits to Wrexham and Barnsley, and there’s the added attraction of his famous Tom-bola, which offers prizes for fans on the spot.
Now it’s Colchester’s turn.
Martin Leatherdale, Centre Manager at Lion Walk, commented: “We are of course delighted to hear that Tom has just announced online that he will be visiting us this Saturday as part of his viral social media series #Tomstowns. What a treat for our shoppers to have a private concert! It is hugely unexpected and we are so excited to see him. We know Colchester will give him a great welcome. Come along tomorrow morning and make sure your spot is ready!”
